Has anyone got one? Are they really the most versatile 'piece' ever - or just a really big flappy expensive cardi?

oh dear

this would solve all of my maternity knitwear problems
I am half an hour from Bicester
and I am about to get the £200 new clothes health in pregnancy grant

how does one wash it?
is it practical with a 2yo?

macherie · 18/09/2009 10:54

MrsB, I am v careless with my clothes, so machine wash on delicates and dry it flat on a towel.

It is pretty versatile, apparently there are 100 different ways to wear it, but I usually leave it open, tie in a knot at the front, toss one end over the opposite shoulder (IYKWIM), or my favourite way is to wrap it around ballerina style.

Go on, treat yourself

Didnt know you were pregnant Mrs B - congrats!!

geordieminx · 18/09/2009 12:14

bigs here of how you can wear it

geordieminx · 18/09/2009 12:18

Bigs???? Pics! Duh

MrsBadger · 18/09/2009 12:29

oh that is clever

wouldn;t have thought of wearing it backwards

geordieminx · 18/09/2009 13:01

more pics here Love the style of light grey and dark grey ones

SpringySponge · 18/09/2009 13:35

I'm 130 miles away, but I'm wondering if I can miraculously convince DH he wants to visit Bicester for some reason & I'll just tag along

NoahDear · 18/09/2009 15:33

I love the idea - wonder if it woudl end up like those Kaftans they sell that you are supposed to poof abotu with though.
ALso the backwards one looks daft!

MrsBadger · 18/09/2009 16:03

oh I like backwards

I have small boobs and giraffe neck so that boatneck malarky suits me

how long is the back bit ie not the dangly ties?
If I wore it backwards would it cover the bump?

notjustapuppymum · 19/09/2009 16:51

I am 34 weeks pregnant MrsB and it's still covering my bump nicely.

SpringySponge · 19/09/2009 20:07

Well I've just ordered one in cobalt. Fingers crossed it's as lovely as I'm expecting.

SuzeMcG · 19/09/2009 21:16

I bought it in black today. I blame this thread. I think I'll go back for it in pink next week.

CHOOGIRL · 19/09/2009 21:59

My friend happened to be visiting Bicester so I asked her to pick me up another one. The wool cashmere ones are £99 but still cheaper than the £160 I paid a couple of weeks ago. She got one for herself too

LetThemEatCake · 19/09/2009 22:18

I want one In purple I think. Maybe another in black

[wonders if can face trip to Bicester with newborn, 2 toddlers and visiting mother. Thinks probably not]

chachalepew · 19/09/2009 22:22

I thought this was a thread about cosytoes for buggies

CHOOGIRL · 19/09/2009 22:26

They didn't have purple in Bicester but they had black - my friend lives close by so if she goes again will let you know. Rather annoyingly they do not mail order.

SpringySponge · 19/09/2009 23:06

If anyone goes to Bicester who could pick one up for me, let me know. Seriously - I'm expecting great things of it & would like another colour
