LBD help needed, anyone feel like helping to search for a very specific look?

Did I sell that well?

I am after a little black dress, that is shortish with thin straps (maybe) and not too tight but made of a thin material that can shift sexily elegantly as one sashays into a room.

Strangely I haven't been able to find one immediately that appeases my very broad criteria

but i bought it ages ago.

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:13

Hey DB,
thus far done Debenhams, Asos, Kew, John Lewis and netaporter...

(oh and Browns and FCUK)

I found a few but they were all a bit 'body con', I want something that moves a bit

warehouse?

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:19

It has movement criteria but is a bit fussy no?

Thanks though!

phase eight?

nevergoogledragonbutter · 09/09/2009 00:20

sorry, phase eight one is more fussy than fussy. i'll try again.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 09/09/2009 00:26

evenfall dress

force of nature dress

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:27

Think more plain and shorter. I figure I can afford it to be short without looking slutty if it isn't too figure hugging. Bonus points if it adopts a less-is-more attitude to the back...

xposts - my response was to the earlier suggestions. Let me check those and BRB

coast tiger short dress

tigerbear · 09/09/2009 00:31

There's a nice one on the Whistles website - called the Folded Tiers dress - doesn't have thin straps but it is nice - £150. What's the budget?

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:31

Thank you so much DB. At the risk of sounding like a PITA fussy person, they're still too complicated. Think of one bit of thin cloth. Like a very plain very oversized camisole maybe!

go to asos and do a search for dresses in black. there are loads.

nevergoogledragonbutter · 09/09/2009 00:34

you want a nightie then?

do you need me to tell you there's fine line between sashaying into a room elegantly and looking like you've gone out in your nightie?

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:36

Indeed a very fine line! I hope with your help to stay juuuuuust the right side of it.

Check Reiss, DKNY, Tara Jarmon, My Wardrobe, etc...

nevergoogledragonbutter · 09/09/2009 00:41

right style, wrong material?

Marrenon · 09/09/2009 00:42

i bought this last week

it is so much nicer on,

i got purple pumps, gold beads, gold bangles and a purple scalf,

all looks fab on and so not too expensive,

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:48

DB, I find it hard to see past the "optical illusion" fabric! Style is good though.

topshop

S1ur · 09/09/2009 00:55

Broccopolli that isn't what I had in mind but it certainly has the floaty thing going on and thus might be effective nice.

OP posts:
Broccopolli · 09/09/2009 00:58

nevergoogledragonbutter · 09/09/2009 01:07
