How to tell difference between patent leather...

Or is all patent leather?

or pleather as we call it

PVC tends to have a "stickiness". especially if you warm the material in your hand or if you rub 2 bits together. Leather feels cooler in camparrison.

Also I would expect some natural wrinkles or faults in leather whereas PVC seems more even.

And biggest difference is in wearing, PVC dosen't breathe.

and a drop of water on PVC will stand off in a sphere whereas with leather it is more of a smartie shape

ooh yes the smell is important.
