I've bought my first Boden, come help me decide whether it's frumpy/lovely

I'm still new at this style business. My first ever order from Boden has arrived and am not sure about it. It's lovely and cosy and soft, but not sure if it's a bit too 'mumsy'. Fashion shouldn't be comfortable right?

pic on profile, what do you think?

i like it but the price is always a deciding factor for me. was it uber £££? what's it made of?

wem · 04/09/2009 14:40

with the £10 off code it came to £49. Not bad really. It's this one. Not machine washable which is a downer

I like it. You could dress it up with long beads and it would also look good with boots. (Here's me giving 'fashion advice' safe in the knowledge that you can't see what I look like in RL.)

pippel · 04/09/2009 14:46

I like it

CarrieDababi · 04/09/2009 14:48

would look better with tights and boots imo.
and chunky beads.

quite nice though

hf128219 · 04/09/2009 14:51

A good versatile buy.

forkhandles · 04/09/2009 14:54

I like it too, it's just what I'm after - would it be good too with skinny jeans?

You look good in it too, your norks look great and you look slim, not that I'm suggesting that you aren't slim in real life, but you know what I mean

wem · 04/09/2009 14:54

hmm, realised after I bought it that perhaps I should have gone for the grey as I've only got brown boots. What kind of boots do you think?

OP posts:
wem · 04/09/2009 14:56

hurrah for great norks! They're a fairly recent addition thanks to breastfeeding. Hope they don't shrink once I'm done with it.

I love that - i was drooling over catalogue but can't afford anything.#
but that looks like a lovely easy autumn staple. Did you get the light grey?

wem · 04/09/2009 15:08

ok, I'll keep it I think

OP posts:
wem · 04/09/2009 15:08

oops, x-posted molly

OP posts:
wem · 04/09/2009 15:09

no, the bluey purple, which I'm possibly now regretting

OP posts:
mollyroger · 04/09/2009 15:10

ah I see blue!
Great over skinny jeans. If you only have brown boots, will be fine on dark blue jeans. Get a wide brown belt to tie it all in.

Realy nice, I like with leggings, just not black ones, grey would be nice or plum, colour and black big no-no.

tobago04 · 04/09/2009 15:16

Looks nice, just add some chunky brown jewellery to go with your brown boots

mollyroger · 04/09/2009 15:18

I'd also have a bash with that top over some wide legged trousers (if they have a neatish waistline)
That would look nice with your ballet flats

CarrieDababi · 04/09/2009 15:18

maybe some nice wooden chunky jewellery.
like a big chunky bangle/beads

wem · 04/09/2009 15:20

jeez, I've got so much to learn! Shopping list now includes:

beads
chunky brown jewellery
wide brown belt

once you start buying clothes it just doesn't stop does it!

I think it look nice, just more worried that you don't have a head! That will def get you noticed

wem · 04/09/2009 15:23

don't worry blametheparents, it's up there somewhere. I think.

OP posts:
Oumasrusks · 04/09/2009 15:29

I like it too!

blametheparents · 04/09/2009 15:45

That's good, was getting worried!

wem · 04/09/2009 15:51

right, i'm chickening out of the colour. Going to return it for the grey. Haven't got any of the things that people have said it would work with. I need to be able to fit it in with what I've got or I'll never wear it.
