I live in very wet Scotland.
I need a raincoat (brollies no use) an
d would like a bright red shiny mackintosh but am open to suggestions. Needs to be at least thigh length and a bit quirky.

TIA

bought not boought

hobnob · 04/09/2009 15:05

Sorry, I can't find a link. I'll let you know if I have better luck later.

MrsMuddle · 04/09/2009 15:43

Rumpel, I love that purple parka. Have you seen it in the flesh, as it were?

What's it made of? I think it would be ok for a week or so, and then you'd start getting wet shoulders and elbows.

HelenaBonhamCarter · 04/09/2009 16:07

Rumpel!! that is the second time someone has been really really nice to me since I filched started using this name. Oh how lovely to be popular!!!

By the way what is LHAing please.

I have just been to a local shop and snapped up this beauty of a tile.

Now isn't it ABSOLUTELY beautiful? I think it blows Johnnie's effort right out of the moat actually.

And it was reduced.

(Rumpel - tis flight, so sorry - I am starting to feel a bit guilty about this now!!!)

mustrunmore · 04/09/2009 16:16

I love the cloudspotter ones, but omg so far out of my price league even second hand!
I dont think there is a good solution to this dilemma. I shall continue to wear my matching kagool with ds2

Rumpel · 04/09/2009 18:31

MRSMUDDLE - nope but think I am just gonna go for it - affordable, will last it's 100 per cent cotton.

HBC - LTA - living together apart - the REAL HBC has the house next door to her DH Tim. His is decorated his style (dark) and hers is 'French classical style' perfect resolution to men and toilet prob, remote fighting, etc etc etc. You could meet up for dates and lively chats then go off and have agreat sleep in your own beds - bliss. Now where is that scratch card

Yes your new hat is very nice and waterproof too.

MUSTY - my kagool broke hence trying to find an alternative where I don't feel like such a scruffbag in ( not that I ma in any way implying that you are said scruffbag but you must admit they do not make you feel particularll attractive).

bodenites · 04/09/2009 20:29

that hat with the rose is gorgeous but why on earth can you only sponge clean it when it is "extremly waterproof"im confused

ThingOne · 04/09/2009 20:31

Did anybody else look further on that kimono link from HBC?

I was wondering whether this would help keep off the rain?

Oh Christ thingone

I didn't see that earlier.

Rumpel. Thankyou for clarifying. It all sounds very good. If I keep this name long enough I might kind of osmose into the REAL HBC, do you reckon? That'd be nice.

Bodenites it's waxed fabric, I think it might erm go a bit funny in the washing machine. It's got a wired brim too ffs. What next. Built in CCTV maybe? Air conditioning?

I should never have stepped into the realms of aristocratic headgear. I haven't even got a horse.

Rumpel · 04/09/2009 21:29

THINGONE - tee hee very me in my thinner younger days - madonnesque pointy booby top .

HBC a horse? Have you a DH DP you can jump on and kid on - my DH would ove it if I wore riding boots and told him to trot (maybe not the jumping on though - would probably cripple him ).

I don't want black. I have a black duffle that I have funked up with some fur and embroidered robbonry but fancy a colour injection now . I actually have a gorgeous deep wine afghan but I am tad fat for it at the mo' - post Dc 2 weight is a bugger to shift! Especvially with my penchant for wine and thai crips .

Like the sound of ribbon decorations btw, I added a badge to my coat yesterday and it ade a tremendous differnce.

Get us.

mejon · 04/09/2009 22:35

WTF?? Well at least you'd be dry. HBC - how ever did you come across that site !

TheYearOfTheCat · 04/09/2009 22:51

I have just got the most amazing Paul Costello coat from House of Fraser. I have been looking for a nice coat for the last 2 years. Fab, stylish, waterproof, hood, lots of pockets, great detailing - I will try to get a link.

LetThemEatCake · 04/09/2009 23:39

haven't read this thread but I saw raincoat and thought it was rather nice. Oh, Plumo links never work do they. Go to clothing and it's the 3rd-last image. The 2nd last is the matching rainhat, which I gather from the fleece thread would be a contentious purchase

MrsMuddle · 04/09/2009 23:53

mejon eeeeuuuuuggggghhhhh! WTF?

HelenaBonhamCarter · 05/09/2009 07:54

Obviously I was searching for a 'sauna sack' now come on

MadameCastafiore · 05/09/2009 11:06

Ha ha - let them eat cake - I am on the verge of ordering that one and was just going to link to it - I luuuurve Plumo - think it is the one thing that constantly appears on DHs credit card statement these days!

Rumpel · 05/09/2009 12:41

Never heard of them - but after looking liking the coat.

TheYearOfTheCat · 06/09/2009 00:19

Rumpel · 09/09/2009 21:58

OP posts:
sensibleannie · 22/02/2010 13:17
