I need a solution to soaking trouser bottoms on school run. A solution that isn't wellies. Slim fit jeans tucked into some n ice boots perhaps?

I did this all last year in www.duoboots.co.uk as I don't have skinny calves.

Workwear looking boots are in - those frenchie ones are nice comptonnieres something-or-other, keep seeing the advert - very nice but not cheap.

Or Uggs

Gaitors?

gigglewitch · 03/09/2009 18:25

I assume you're talking for you rather than a six-yr old then...
I was faced with same this morning and got out my dubious purchase of last week - these "jeggings" things, put on my nice brown leather boots, and an oatmeal-y sweater. Lots of nice compliments too

ugh no not uggs!

Or gaitors don't want to look a cnt!

I wore wellies for the school run today with skinny jeans a nice waterproof and a nice bag. I kidded myself I was working the festival chic look.

I have never been dryer or warmer on a wet cold school run.

Skirts and boots avoid this problem. Feels a bit odd to get the boots out before October though.

MmeLindt · 03/09/2009 19:06

I have fur lined long boots, they are great. Slightly more chic that gaitors

MamaG · 04/09/2009 09:38

I have worn wellies, occasionaly but we are quite rural here and I look like I'm trying to fit in wiht the farmers

Skirt and boots -brrrr chilly knees!

Think some nice snuggly boots are in order, with slim leg jeans (not skinny jeans, I don't have the figure for them (yet) -

I am quite an odd shape - good legs, but big fat body - DH says I look like a potato with matchsticks stuck into it, in his unkinder moments

I wear a knitted dress, with tights, and black boots if it is raining, no wet trousers - but I would also wear wellies, also rural, though most of the people here drive everywhere, so they don't seem capable of dressing for the weather.

Sounds like you have the legs for jeggings .(I hate to use that word and all the combinations, treggings etc.)
