Quest for classic boots

Please can you help?

I was banking on LK Bennett but they don't have a huge choice this year.

I want a classic riding boot really; long, narrowish, brown leather, flattish heel - boring but useful!!

Would prefer on-line - deliver to Europe.

Thanks for any pointers!

I normally buy from duo boots. They usually have classic styles. Not looked yet!

Thanks Thing - much appreciated - but I bought a black pair from them last year and wasn't very happy.

My legs are very slim (the only part of me that is!!) and I don't like the way Duo narrow the top calf part of their boots (they sew quite a crude, short, pleat down the inside half of the calf) to achieve their so-called 'individual' fit. It looks a bit cheap to be honest.

Any other ideas anyone?

I got these in black last year and they go with everything and are super comfy and look as good as new for this year as well

Those black Hobbs ones are gorgeous irl.

dexter73 · 02/09/2009 21:55

Great reduction on those Hobbs boots - £199 from £199.99!

Countingthegreyhairs · 03/09/2009 09:09

Oh - I love the Hobbs one - they are perfect - but they don't deliver to mainland Europe [sniff]

BTW Thing - having re-read my previous post -didn't mean to be rude and suggest that your Duo boots look cheap - I wouldn't have bought from them in the first place if I did - it's just when they do the slimming down alteration thingy [digs deeper hole for my size 13s]

Any other ideas please? If not, a day trip to the UK may be in order.

I like the sound of the Wrangler ones I have read about on previous MN threads. Highly recommended But every time I try to open a link they are all old so I have no actual idea what they look like

Countingthegreyhairs · 03/09/2009 18:26

Thanks PuppyLove - will investigate

no the wrangler spencers of MN fame were short ones for wearing under jeans thus

MadameCastafiore · 03/09/2009 18:48

Do Joules deliver to Europe?

Am going to invest in a pair of these ones I think!

MadameCastafiore · 03/09/2009 18:48

Oooohhhh they do they do - £9 and you get 10% off if you got the mumsnet code!

Countingthegreyhairs · 05/09/2009 00:22

Have some short ones from last year that still have some life in them but thank you Puppy Loves and Mrs B

Oh dear Madame C - I have succumbed to a few things from Joules today but not the boots !!I don't know whether to thank you for directing me to their website or not !!

(The boots are lovely btw but a bit too thick of ankle (Nora Batty boots are an issue for me at the best of times!!)

Still looking for long, narrow, brown leather lovelies ....
