Granny knickers with summer frocks

I don't wear skirts in the summer, because my thighs chaffe unbearably unless I wear tights, which I don't like. So I was thinking of getting these.

Would they work? I'm a size 20, and don't want to suffer 'roll-up'.
Would they show and be an embarassing disaster?
What colour should I get?

They're not so different from those leggings with the lace around the bottom....which might be a safer bet.
But they could work for you....you'd have to be careful about the skirt being totally opaque.

I have the ones from evans which are like tights material, they are fantastic and only£5 or so.

Evans do something like this?! I haven't gone near an Evans in years (fed up with the crap quality and styling). I shall have to have a look.

Mmmm...£5 v £15...OTOH, silk v nylon...

I tried 3/4 length leggings. Not a good look when you're a big momma. Well, that's what I thought, but I jsut don't know - is it that it's something new and therefore I'm not used to it so it looks wrong? I wish there was someone I could ask, but it's such a "does my bum look big in this" question!
