How much to get a taxi from the centre of York to McArthur Glen?

I know there's a bus but my DP is incredibly snobby about public transport and thinks we should get a taxi.

How long would the journey be on a weekday, and does anybody have a rough idea of cost? We're from Edinburgh, and just planning a lovely Autumn break.

I would imagine about £7 to 8...maybe a tenner tops.

I'd echo no more than a tenner. About £15 extra to shop with if you catch the bus!

Thanks ladies! I love York, can't wait to come back down. Personally I love buses but DP can be bizarrely arsey about them. If he wants to catch a fast black I will be sure he pays for it!
