Ginger going grey.... hair dye?

The title says it all really... Apparently I am not immortal (wtf?) and now need to dye my ginger tresses; just have a few greys, but they are beginning to be noticeable .

I cannot find ginger, or 'copper' hair dye anywhere

In the last few years, all the hair dye seems to have focused on deep, russet reds or 'aubergine' colours- I am really proud of my hair colour and don't want to lose it, but short of paying for salon colour, I am at a loss.

Does anyone know where I can get authentic ginger/copper permanent hair dye?!?!

Well apart from henna, which is hard to get hold of these days, can give unpredictable results, and has to be grown out before you put anything else on your hair....

(I've just spent 18 months getting a style back after growing it out and having a short cut to ease the process)

I just have it done professionally. No other option. There are no natural looking gingery colours, apart from iirc when I was growing it out... a semi permenant from that range advertised on tv where the woman is looking in a shop window, pulls a hat off and has a ton of bright red hair. Not that shade, they do a much lighter shade. arghghghg what is that make of colours called!!!

Not too bad in my area though, I go to a well established local salon and pay £27 for colour and dry every 3 weeks with £41 for cut colour and dry the alternate 3 weeks.

On a cost per wear basis, having hair coloured professionally works out quite cheap (tries to justify the expense to dp!!)

Which works out a very reasonable £162 (rounded up) a day, so compared to the faff of trying to find the right colour and then the agony of diy, seems pretty reasonable.

I am seriously thinking about it.
