has anyone had tattoos removed?

I'm not sure where to start looking for a reputable company that does tattoo removal, I'm in Hampshire. There seems to be several ways to get them removed, but I have no idea what's safe and what works. The cost isn't really a worry as the tattoo is small, I'd rather have it done safely than save a few quid and get a botched job.

TIA

Yes, me.

I had it done by laser removal. I did have one session with this thing where they inject some weird kind of substance in but that was terrible and left scars. The laser treatment was fine and worked very well.

It's not cheap though. I've moved since I had it done but there is a national chain called SKIN who do it and are supposed to be ok I think.

how much is 'not cheap'?

I looked at the SKIN website and and it did look pretty good.

Depends on the size of the tattoo and how many sessions you need which is dictated by the colour and things like how deep the ink is.

Mine was about 3 inches in diameter and I think the sessions were about £65 a go and I had 10ish I think. That was about 3/4 years ago now. ALso paid a consultation fee. Black is the easiest colour to get out.

thanks . Mine is just a silly thing around my belly button so I'd guess it would be roughly the same price. It's black and purple which I hope comes out.

I'd like to get mine removed. What does the skin look like afterwards? I imagine it never goes back to how it was?

I was looking at the websites and in the 'after' pictures the skin looks pretty good. Not crystal clear, but as good as.

I might look at getting mine removed one day, it's a lot of money which I don't have right now but maybe one day and until then perhaps i'll learn to enjoy it more as it won't be there forever the only time it gets to me is at times when I'd like to hide it eg for my wedding or work but I can't because of where it is other than that I don't mind it.

Why do you want to get rid of yours?

I very stupidly did a tattoo on my finger when I was a teenager. I had it removed by my Dr referring me to a plastic surgeon who I had to pay a few hundred pounds. He just cut it out then sewed the skin back together, couldnt bend my finger for about a week but now many years later you can hardly see the scar.

Mine is round my belly button and TBH I regretted it within days of having it done 10 years ago. Its not very big so even if it can't be zapped 100% it should end up very faint.
