Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 15:10

Need a dress and shoes, accesories etc ... for October wedding,

Dark eyes, long black hair. Curvier gal

size 14/16,

Prefer something that covers upper arms but could be cardi / shrug.

Good boobage (with right underwear- Size slightly sagging DD)

Will be wearingfull sucky in underwear.

Always fancied a Dita Von Tease style dress, something very 50s but that will be OK with my size IYKWIM?

Any ideas?

Oh I am also crp with heels, so chunky heels or wedges!

Someone linked to this website the other day, and I would love one of these dresses if I was curvy. They have lots of colours and matching shrugs.

BunnyLebowski · 17/08/2009 15:29

So very weird - that's the dress I was just in the process of linking to!!

Would be perfect imo

I've had a look on dollydagger and vivienofholloway but the dresses are a bit too costumey.

Love this too!

gorgeous colour

pretty - love the lace detail

nice too

nickelbabe · 17/08/2009 15:32

this?
is gorgeous

you'd need a shrug with number 1, though.
this is fun!

MadameCastafiore · 17/08/2009 15:33

These are a bit 50's.

Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 15:35

Am thinking mines a bit too out there, I'm not sure I have the stuff to pull it off.

These are all lovely!

OP posts:
BunnyLebowski · 17/08/2009 16:01

It's not out there at all! It's sexy and classy and with good underwear would be really flattering to curves! And it's a bargain!!

All you need are black shoes and a bag and maybe a bangle. Don't ruin the line of the dress by putting a shrug over it.

Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:18

Would I have to do bare legs?

Maybe Id be better off with something black with balck tights?

It is October?

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:19

sorry blue

I think I'll get the blue with black tights, killer heels,

yes?

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:20

these shoes??

OP posts:
BunnyLebowski · 17/08/2009 16:29

The blue is nice.

I think the shoes are foul - sorry!

I would do bare legs and shoes like

these

or

these

Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:35

My legs are awful thoug, full of stretch marks

I thought my shoes would be good as theres no way they could fall off my feet, those 'just slip your foot in shoes' always seem to get left on the floor when I lift my foot up! lol

Like I said, Im not too good in heels!

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:36

these better?

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:38

but I quite like this!

OP posts:
HolyGuacamole · 17/08/2009 16:40

I agree with Bunny, The blue shoes are too fashioney. The dress has a good impact so more classic styled shoes would look better esp if you're going for a Von Teese look.

I like the first pair that bunny has linked.

HolyGuacamole · 17/08/2009 16:41

Noooooooo......that black dress is......just.....noooooo. I think it looks cheap, sorry don't mean to be rude

BunnyLebowski · 17/08/2009 16:43

Yeah they're not bad!

these would stay on!

as would these

I know what you mean about the feet slipping out!

Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:44

Lol Holy!

Im just having a panic, I wont buy the DP dress as Im not sure Im confident enough for it, i thought big black roomy dress and grabbed at it~!

I think Ill have to start my search again and be a bit more realistic to me!

OP posts:
Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 16:47

holy??

OP posts:
DollyPS · 17/08/2009 16:52

thank christ for that as I thought I was alone there in that its hidious.

the blue shoes are lovely as is the black.

You cant wear black tights hen with the dress so flesh coloured tights for that.

Loved the 50's halter neck one as well all red and white polka dots very fab.

BunnyLebowski · 17/08/2009 16:56

What about any of these? They're not really of one style in particular but they all caught my eye

Blue again - very sexy and flattering

Green and grecian

Green and grecian again but more structured this time

I don't think I should like this but I kinda do!

Disenchanted3 · 17/08/2009 17:00

I like the first green one!

this is nice and classy too i think?

OP posts:
HolyGuacamole · 17/08/2009 17:06

Oh the green and Grecian one is lovely, swoon! And, yes, I shouldn't like the pink either but I do, it's very different.

I love Grecian style, the Lipsy one you linked is nice too. Look at pictures of Angelina Jolie for Grecian, she does it very well, although she does tend to go for floor length ones.

BlehdyDM · 17/08/2009 17:07

You could also wear sheer black tights, rather than thick black. They make your legs look curvaceous and rather sexy.

BunnyLebowski · 17/08/2009 17:14

The Julian McDonald one? More like Liz McDonald if you ask me!

Sorry dis, it looks much too tight and too short.

Let's keep going - I'm determined to get a whole outfit sorted for you by teatime
