WTF is black leggings under denim shorts all about...Its August !

Today, Hot, Sunny I have seen 4 women wearing black leggings under denim shorts.
Young women(under 35) with good figures, Why such an odd combination?
Is this a new look I should be aware of(but then ignore as I am 40ish and floaty and cool in a skirt)

Hot here too in the cotswolds, my daughter often does that look but today just the shorts. I don't get the wooly hats that young men wear either or am I losing touch.

it was lovely today here to however august has been miserable i can understand the leggins, for those that have that look, however i do think just wear trousers if your cold

I wear thick tights/leggins under short denim shorts but in winter. With uggs.

the coast has a microclimate all of its own though. Come a mile or so inland and it wouldnt be the same. DH was on the north norfolk coast today with lovely weather. Here 10 miles inland it was pretty dreary. Maybe they didn't start on the coast

It maybe August and so this is a good attempt at wearing all those summer clothes.

It also saves a bit of leg shaving.

I saw someone dressed the same today - it was boiling here (south east), had factor 30 on dd.
