Ones that were passed on to me when I was a teenager: My aunt swears by using Nivea cream to remove eye make-up. She says it prevents wrinkles. My mum never ever uses moisturiser ('the skin can look after itself'), and still looks fabulous at 71 years old. I like rinsing my hair with cold water to make it shine. What's your favourite tip? And, can you suggest one single thing I can do to make me feel more glamourous when I leave the house in the morning? I am very busy lazy so don't blow-dry my hair and don't bother with make-up while I am on maternity leave.

Use a good facial scrub twice a week.
Don't smoke
Use vaseline on elbows and knees.
Get your eyebrows threaded, it really makes a difference.
Get plenty of sleep.
Wear perfume every day.

Oh good one, does Vaseline work then? I have elephant skin on my knees from kneeling on the floor to do nappy changes / play with my toddler. I bet sweet almond oil is good for that too?

Plenty of sleep is a nice idea but not possible with a 3 month old baby

Ooh green smoothies are just fab. I started having them after reading a book on them, called green for life.

They are basically loads of greens like lettuce, celery, kale, pak choi cucumber etc, mixed with loads of fruit, all whizzed round in a blender with water.
They are green but taste like a fruit smoothie. The health benefits of blending the greens are HUGE. You get much more from mashing them up than eating them whole and of course they are raw which is even better.

You can make savoury ones too

zzmum, I follow a programme called "ageless if you dare" and the massage is quite aggressive by normal standards. It involves pinching and pulling and rolling the skin between the fingers. It goes against all beauty advice but by God it REALLY REALLY thickens the skin up. You have to be brave, take the plunge and trust it will work, but it does! here's a link to the forum the woman who runs it is amazing and so lovely!!

thanks for that - the regime looks quite aggresive as you say! How would you say your skin has improved as a result of it and how long did it take to see an improvement?

Going to try the green smoothie tomorrow as they sound lovely ...

Well, I was on another prog called 'flex effect' for 7 months and didn't like what it did to my face.
With this prog, and I've been with it since april, it lifts up the cheeks more. My droopy eyelids have nearly gone, my neck is firm and strong now, my skin is much much thicker, much smoother, much younger and it only takes 5 mins a day! I really recommend you give it a go

The 30 day mascara eyelash dye is quite weak. You can buy salon strength stuff on the internet. Apply it with a cleaned mascara wand and smear vaseline round your eyes first.
