Any tips on cutting my DSs hair?

I have clippers and hairdressing scissors, I now just need some step by step instructions!

Can anyone assist?

How old is he?

DS is 18mo, and I just gave him a grade 3 cut with clippers all over. It looked a bit short for a week or so, but the grade 4 wouldn't go through his hair as it was too fine.

What made it so much easier though, was me doing DH's hair first, with DS watching.

He is 6 years old but still rather squirmy, but I'm not so worried about that, more the style to go for, and how to achieve it without it looking crap
