Boden catalogue horrors...

Johnnie, get a fecking grip...

  1. We do not want big prints on everything
  1. 'Metropolitan' is so not your schtick. Please leave that to people who know how to do it properly. Like Reiss (if only they made fat girl sizes )
  1. And we DEFFO do not want to see clothes we might buy worn by our willowy daughters. The whole first section is two 12 year olds. It has never been that bad. I know it is aspirational, and I know it is rough economic times and all so diversification seems sensible but don't you think you should know your market? I am never going to buy something modelled by someone who looks like one of my students could be her mother. At least make look old enough to get pregnant.

Puhlease.

Oh but i loved these

BUT

went in to M&S and got these

They are lovely and half the price!

LynetteScavo · 03/08/2009 21:27

The plastic mac in black makes me think Kat Slater.

www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Accessories/Bags/AM119/Womens-Autumn-Rucksack.html

could it look any cheaper?

abraid · 03/08/2009 21:32

Horizontal stripes actually ARE flattering. There was an article about it recently. Apparently they make a surface, ie, you, look more three- rather than two-dimensional and hence slimmer.

maggievirgo · 03/08/2009 21:32

yes, it certainly is 'striking'. I liked their satchel bags last year. That rucksack is awful. A teenager would like it, but a teenager wouldn't spend 60 on it.

LuluMaman · 03/08/2009 21:33

i thought they made you look broader. well, i've learnt something new

yes, teh satchels were gorgeous, but could not justify expense and tehn saw one really similar in jaegar sale last week, but still too £££

seen some nice patent bags in next though

abraid · 03/08/2009 21:34

Here we go: info. about why horizonal stripes are good, good, good.

www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/3351615/Horizontal-stripes-make-you-look-thinner.html

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 21:34

Yuk, yuk, yuk.

I love the patent boots but the bags are not nice.

Not much i like this year really.

Do you like my shoes???!

LuluMaman · 03/08/2009 21:36

thank you abraid..

yes, love your shoes . very chic and stylish

georgimama · 03/08/2009 21:37

I can beat you ginandtonic, I got some zebra print high heels in New Look which are identical to the Boden ones for a tenner.

Boden clothes for women are so horrible. Te men's clothes are as you would want the women's to be - good quality, slightly boring basics. Why do we have to look like the inside of a National Express coach? Does Johnnie think his wife looks fit in that sack with a sash tied around it in the mornings?

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 21:37

Oh yes, thank you Lulu

I quite like stripes, mostly on the children though.

Jewelsandgems · 03/08/2009 21:38

Shit I liked that patent jacket

And I have ordered a print dress today from sale section (double shit)

Models are totally too young though, I can imagine why they look so good in any old 'hotchpotch' item, but I am not so sure I can pull off 'hotchpotch' to effortlessly. (although for some reason, I am under the impression that parent red and large red prints will look fabulous on me)

Sometimes, one should NOT shop when one has PMT. It's like 'judgement goodbye!'

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 21:38

[Georgie envy]

Link please...

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 21:41

georgimama · 03/08/2009 21:45

Ooh, was in sale last week. Will try and find...

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 21:54

You can stroke them too, i like it.

Thanks Lulu, it is my sisters wedding. Will be full of teeny tiny sticks.

LuluMaman · 03/08/2009 21:55

oh, you are a gorgeous girl yourself, lG&T!

cazzybabs · 03/08/2009 22:04

...never mind the clothes...what about the model's names [OK I am a little sad but in moments of boredom I read the extra bits about the models]..there is a bloke called Norbert - wasn't he a dragon in harry potter...

Sorry to be namist but a bloke called norbet is not for me the boden dream

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 22:14

Lulu have you taken leave of your senses,i have just had baby #7... tis not pretty I am relying on Spanx

Thank you though you lovely lady

Received catalogue yesterday, will be changing my name to "TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsBodenGroupie". Very few turned down pages this season!

Agree about the models and the enormous patterns.

badgermonkey · 04/08/2009 09:27

I was thinking there's no way the clothes will fit the skinny models - I ordered something in an 8 and it looked like I was playing dressing up, so I never order anything, even though I like the dresses. I put a snotty comment on the return label about size inflation, too.

courtneylovescox · 04/08/2009 09:29

after hating their clothes, i quite like all this new stuff
