10 years younger bootcamp - Calling WWW!

Hello

A few months ago, we had a weekly thread run by the lovely WickedWaterWitch which motivated many of us to drink more water, eat well, take some exercise, cut the booze and generally look after ourselves. It was such a good thread and really helped me to stick to the straight and narrow for many months.

WWW stopped running the thread at the end of last year and, though we soldiered on for a short time, it wasn't the same without her. I posted on another thread yesterday and Winnie mentioned that she also missed the thread and would love it to be revived. However, we don't really want to do it without WWW at the helm.

So, WWW, if you are out there, is there any chance we could lure you back? I had a baby in Dec (was posting as Chutney Mary then) and though I've lost some weight I need the firm hand of the thread to sort the rest of me out. Plus I miss others on the thread (Saggars, Norks, Marina, Love and Squalor and Bundle to name but a few).

Many thanks

I have started the day with a vigorous 30 minute swim Have eaten a banana, strawberries, blueberries and yogurt for breakfast. I am happy, happy, happy BUT must not return here until my bathroom is painted... See you all later, have a good day

Well done Winnie - am impressed with bathroom painting antics as well. I have got to gird my loins to do a mirror frame in a minute. Sadly I drank LOTS of wine last night so am feeling rather jaded. Really want to put a DVD on for DD1 and have a kip while the 2 others are asleep but don't think DD1 will go for it.

Feeling quite fed up today. My first week trying to diet/exercise and I have only lost 1lb! MUST TRY HARDER!

Did have a lovely cooked brekkie this morning but has a very light lunch with a few crispbreads and salad and a glass of water!

Trying to snack on some healthier options too. Any ideas please; I MUST up my fruit an veg so I have the cupboard stocked with dried apricots, prunes and dates and aslo a few seeds and nuts.

Updated my exercise program for the week, due to go for a run tonight too.

Early nights-failed
Moisturiser/sunscreen- good girl
Alcohol-errrrmmmm Saturday night and I gave in but had been much better in the week!

Any recommendations for a Pilates DVD please.
We have just got Fitness trainer on the Wii but haven't really treid it yet.

Dingle - don't be demoralised. It might be that you get a bumper weight loss next week. It might be that you have developed more muscle which weighs more than fat. Have you got some (tight) jeans you can use as a barometer?

DD upset, back in a minute.

SOrry about that - took a break and only just got the minkers to bed.

I can't recommend DVDs alas as I haven't done one since the Jane Fonda days. I jus try to walk more and wear my moron regularly. Haven't done much today though - must try harder.

Dingle, you will not be demoralised You have started and you have lost a 1lb that is something. Well done you! As sybil said you'll have a bumper loss next week. I find that my weight loss ebbs and flows depending on my cycle, my mood & my exercise levels as well as my food/alcohol intake. I am learning not to let one 'bad' step on the scales ruin the overall result. I haven't been the size I am now for 11 years! Yay!

Sybil, well done with wearing the moron. How many steps do you average and what are you aiming for?

BUT I do need more motivation in generally looking after myself. So who is going to start the new weeks thread tomorrow? We can all start with renewed resolve and I know others will join us. Saggers, Duchess and unknown are you going to join us? please do

sybil - I was so bloody smug at being back in size 12s after DS2, that I thoroughly deserved to get whacked with the fat-stick. Anyway, I'm roughly back to where I was last June :rolls eyes: and now I'm ready to get fitter still. From Sept, I'll have 3 DCs at school full-time and just DS2 at home with me, he sleeps all afternoon, which gives me about 2hrs to exercise before school pick-up, which I'm very excited about!!!

Lots of walking today, pilates class this evening. Food good. Lots of water. My moron needs a new battery/re-setting which I'll try and get round to sorting out.

Oh look, I'm failing the 'early night' bit again.

winnie - I'll probably post sporadically. We've missed starting a new thread for this week. So if whoever remembers can do a new one Sunday night/Monday morning and post a link to it on this thread, then that will be dandy.

hi duchess,

I will try to start a new thread Sunday night/Monday morning. Next week I am not at work so will need extra incentive to keep me on the straight and narrow as I don't do well out of routine

I have come to the conclusion that swimming is the perfect exercise for me and 2-3 swims a week and my weight is falling off I am at my thinnest for 12 years

sunscreen at all times X
alcohol - limit to weekends X
walking - every day ~(I am walking a lot again but I am also swimming 2-3 times a week too)
drink lots of water
cleanse, moisturise, bodycream, foot cream
eat healthily (if discount the alcohol )
be happy

I am struggling because I work as a TA in a school, so am lucky enought to have the holidays off. Unfortunately being at home makes me want to snack, and not on fruit!

I will post more when I have a bit more time.

Winnie, how far do you swim each time? Glad you have found what works for you

cerys, lovely to see you

I am swimming for at least 30 mins and sometimes for 60 depending on number of people in pool etc., I like to swim lengths adn just keep going and I've noticed I am getting slightly faster but still need to be in slow lane for now
