Is it any good for short stubby lashes like mine?

I used to use it. Can't say it made my eyelashes appear longer, but I have longish eyelashes anyway. Only downside to it is that it isn't waterproof - quite often ended up with panda eyes during the day. Not a good look!

this mascara is really good and free if you enter the code from the thread. I'm just finishing one and have now ordered a second

I already have the virgin vie one in black/brown but really want a just black one for night time use.
