Right - if I was a famous film star I'd defo have a facelift. I'm not and so won't be. How else can I save my ravaged face?

I'm 41 and really starting to look and feel it. Everything seems to have sagged and I look tired and OLD.

I have place skin, not too many wrinkles round the eyes but my face looks saggy and I have lines around my mouth that give me Deputy Dawg cheeks. Man, I sound fine

I use Protect and Perfect every day and Chanel Vitalumthingy foundation but think I prefer Mac so will buy some stuff on Fri when I go shopping.

Any tips for improving face? Beauty routines and make-up tips gratefully received!
Do any of the face creams that say they lift and rejuvinate actually work?

Sybil, I still use my moron but I rarely hit 10,000 steps these days! Am planning a relaunch. I am swimming a few times a week about 20 lengths but need more exercise.

I do think that not looking 'ravaged' is all about the basics: limiting stimulants (coffee, tea, alcohol,) cutting out smoking, exercising regularly, controversially drinking lots of water, getting enough sleep and eating healthily. Easy Lol! Products can be useful but the ground work does need to be put in. Imho

I will be looking out for WWW.

20 lengths each time not over three sessions!

Winnie - why is drinking water controversial?

sayyesmummy, I will try to find a link but at some point in recent times there was a science based programme on tv about the myths regarding health and it stated that making an effort to drink water had no health benefits but that just feels wrong and many people when discussing it felt that drinking more water had to be good for one!

Try a CACI facial - about £40 - but worth it - you get about 3 weeks of tightening before you have to look ravaged for a week and then go back for another one. Unless you are rich and can afford to go more than once every 4 weeks.

I'd read that facial exercises can actually increase lines as they are moving the muscle and skin - that's where wrinkles come from - moving skin - ie frowning, laughing etc. Whereas CACI stimulates just the muscles not the skin.

Have been doing the Clinique 3-step facial cleansing routine for 10 days now and, under close scrutiny in the scary magnifying mirror this morning, I notice that my pores are actually SHRINKING

definitely definitely smaller and less cratery-looking. HURRAH!

I am 50 next year, and in the last 6 months have really noticed everything going horribly downhill. I use Dermalogica, but Clarins moisteriser as it seems to do the trick- not any more! Have recently started on HRT which has stopped the hot flushes, but of course I now get periods and SPOTS! I look like a dot-to-dot picture at the moment, and so have just booked a facial for when they get back to school.
Have you ever looked downwards in a mirror...like a horror film.
I also don't do summer very well- never tan, and have yet to find a fake tan which looks natural. Any suggestions ladies?
I DO FEEL VERY STRESSED AT THE MOMENT WHICH DOESN'T HELP SKIN DOES IT! (sorry for caps there) It's the school holidays....

I use clarins self tanning milk and find it very good - gives a very light glow and no streaking. You can apply more frequently for a darker colour. Great for baring your legs in summer...

I'm rubbish with beauty stuff - don't do it at all, but someone bought me some stuff from The Body Shop which I love and have since bought 'cos I use it every morning.

It's this and it's wonderful - I use a bit around each eye and over my cheekbones in the morning and feel like I look 10 years younger!

I also notice a huge difference if I bother drinking tons of water every day, but that's much more like hard work so I often sometimes don't
