I wouldn't recommend grosgrain ribbon but a length of hat elastic that goes round the front of the crown, through two (small) holes where the crown meets the brim above your ears and then under your hair at the back will at least keep it on

like the lanyards on the hats aussie lifegaurds wear

just do not put it under your chin
