Fish oil rubbed on pimples?
I have out of date cod liver oil capsules in medicine cabinet.
Can they be used for future pimpleage?

Creams with urea in also help KP, ds has it quite badly on his arms and legs, he has the dry, red version KP rubra and at first I thought it was excema, but emmollients didn't help. I have the ordinary kind on my upper arms but I've had it as long as I can remember and don't mind too much, its quite relaxing squeezing the wee spots! AHA's should work as they would help dissolve the excess keratin that plugs the hair follicles (my dad is a dermatologist and explained it to me). That stuff that YLMct linked to look good though, my facial pores could do with some help too.

Both my kids and myself have this badly - I just thought we had spotty red upper arms!!

I am going to google Keratosis Pilaris now

Thanks,

Where can you buy it from?

"Good Riddance" body scrub by Good Works (sold in Boots) is excellent for keeping upper arms (and decollete) clear of bumps. It is also brilliant to take on holiday with you as it contains eucalyptus and patchouli (amongst other essential oils) so helps to keep the mozzies away too.

It is made by the same people who make the "This Works" aromatherapy range. All absolutely gorgeous products

Thanks for all the info, all.
I did need acne cream on my bum for a while, prescribed by the doc, that worked wonders also.

I bought my Soap and Glory cream from Boots, the decreasing eye cream is not much cop though.

I don't have pimply upper arms as such but mine go dead blotchy if I exercise. It's not a good look.

I never drink fizzy drinks.
Tis probably just toxins. Coffee etc.
I exfoliate with St Ives apricot scrub. Does the job.

Actually, I have found that cutting ALL diary products out of my diet totally rid my arms and bum of those little nasties. I was shocked.

I've googles this many a time, and one theory is that it's caused by mites, which we all apparently have living on us, only some people have too many (or something).

It tends to run in families, and often goes away with age.
Afair, any treatment has to be ongoing, which is why I've given up on the daily scrubbing (can't be arsed) - just use Flexitol when they're on show

I'm sure I'll now be trying all the above cures, though..

I have never managed to get rid of this until this year - I think more sunshine has been part of it but I've also started running as well, and I wonder if it's better circulation? I just looked at my arms one day and went "omg, they're...smooth!"

I can confirm that Soap and Glory Nose Scrub does indeed work and it is on offer at the moment in Boots.

Thank you for the recommendation.

I have found that nothing works. Mine is getting worse with age.
So I will try anything. Vitamin A did not work so will try fish oil. Will also try AHA's and this soap and glory stuff. I really hate my arms. Bingo wings and KP make not a pretty sight

ok so I developed KP whilst pregnant with 2nd baby .... and it has not disappeared 4 months on ....... I absolutely hate it. Went to see a dermatologist who presecribed various creams which do not work. Will try fish oil now. Will also try nose scrub - but not convinced a scrub will work - it is more red patches (expecially after exercise) than actual spots. Now I think I will also try cutting out dairy - will miss yoghurt though!

I thought it was just me that had pimply arms! Mine appeared after I was pregnant with dd1 and never went away - even asked my GP about it and she hadn't a clue what it was. Now I know and will be off to Boots. THank you ladies!

I have had this for years and years. It always really annoyed me and I was aware of it all the time, esp when some rude people pointed it out to me

Straight after exercise it was more noticeable, and nothing ever really seemed to work.

I am now almost 9 weeks pregnant and by the day the bumps are reducing!

That is my cure.
