Perfect curls - which curling irons?

My hair is longer now and I feel like doing something different that just boring old straight.

I like the loose curls look, and whilst I can achieve this with my GHDs sometimes, it's not every time and sometimes it just looks silly.

So, I am looking for recommendations on curling irons to create those lovely loose curls that are easy to create, and a gurateed good result. Does such a thing exist?

I'm lurking. I want to know this too as my hair has just got to the right length for curls.

I'm trying with the GHD's but not sure i'm getting it right.

The last time I had a hair cut the stylist recommended i twist sections of my hair either forward or back while my hair is wet (maybe with mousse too) and then leave it to dry for the surf relaxed curl look. It works but i can't go out with wet hair?! Good for the weekend though.

I've only had chance to use it about twice since Christmas but it is good.
