Are Christening bracelets just for girls or are they suitable for baby boys, too?

Would like to get a baby boy a Christening bracelet (plain, silver, expandable) but are they too girlie for a boy?? Do baby boys have them?

TBH, I would check with the parents if I were you.
People bought both my boys bracelets when they were christened (one was a gold bangle & the other a little gold chain with a bit with the name engraved on), but I don't like bracelets on boys, so they have never worn them which is such a waste.

My DS was given one but he is never likely to wear it.

Then again do children ever actually wear christening bracelets?

i think they are more for girls

i would get a silver picture frame instead

our boys were given silver spoons with their names engraved , a lovely keepsake

Thanks for replies!

I checked with the parents and they said nobody else is getting one and are fine with it, it's just whether traditionally, can boys get bracelets ? I don't mind it not being worn either, I just want to get something nice and traditional and the bracelets are so cute they really appeal to me.

Hmm yes, silver spoon with name engraved is nice idea too.
