Shoes needed for my wedding

beanieb · 12/07/2009 13:25

I am wearing a 1950's dress, kind of dark ivory coloyr, and because it's short I need shoes which will make a statement. Am considering wearing these img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/byny/shoeswedding.jpg but am not sure. Can anyonoe find me some Ivory shoes in the same style and same height?

oh good
I mailed my mum and asked, fully expecting her to tell me I am mad, and she thinks it's a great idea! Hmmm, will think on a bit

I am strictly a flat-shoed girl so know nothing about heels I'm afraid, but have you had a look in Shoon which is just down from TK Maxx in the old David Morgans (they are also online), or John Ian which is in the David Morgan Arcade. Both have something 'a little different' and might be worth a look.

I would be going coloured, too, with a shorter dress. What shade of green? I have a friend who wore pink Jimmy Choos at her wedding and they were anazing.
I do like your leopards (I have a rather favourite pair similar) but think something "shinier" might be better for your wedding?

beanieb · 13/07/2009 19:21

Mejon, not heard of them but will check it out on Thursday.

To be honest I haven't stuck to one shade of green I think I have done this all wrong and should have started with the shoes

red

I got some DMs and painted them white.

The newspaper I left them on to dry got stuck to the bottom of the soles.

Then during the meal, they got stuck together and Custy (my Maid of Honour) told me in no uncertain terms that her duties did not entail crawling beneath the wedding table to unstick my DMs.

beanieb · 13/07/2009 22:26

SilentBob, I saw those first ones but not for me sadly.

The first Gold ones are too strappy for me but the POLYANTHA BOW ones are a possiblilty

Love the gold ASOS ones, but maybe not for me. The amazing shoes of wonder rock!

Missblythe, I love those red ones. For some reason I had a big downer about red at a wedding but I might consider changing my mind.

Clure - I am in LOVE with the first ones you picked.

The second ones are too slingback-y and too pointy! Not keen on the last pair (red ones) too plastic looking!

Rhubabrb, PMSL - love the DM story.

Hi Beanie Not long to go now !!

I was going to say RED.... you can borrow my Jimmy Choos if you want - I only wore them for a few hours on my wedding day Not sure they're retro enough though ...

too high ?

Tillyscoutsmum · 13/07/2009 22:39

I really like the leopard ones as well btw

missblythe · 13/07/2009 22:47

What size are you, BB?

beanieb · 13/07/2009 22:58

size 6.5/7 and not too good on really high ones

The Moda In Pelle ones are lovely, but look like they would break my neck!
