Driven by the desire to smell of all things rose, (is this a sign that I have by passed middle aged and simply entered old lady era?)

Following on from a consultation with a little old lady who smelt enchantingly of scent of roses I have been on a burner today
I found this at spacenk, by terry rose cream
so gorgeous but £44
found this instead at Body shop, much better pricewise
I am now bathed and scented in rose cream
I have rose flavoured water and syrup in my cupboard to make rose scented icecreams/sorbets and creamy desserts
Is this it, am I now an old lady?
Has anyone got the By Terry cream, is it worth it?
What about some recipes for some rose flavoured desserts?

BOF - I agree. Lavender is the scent of old age

MuffinToptheMule · 12/07/2009 21:47

I just got a Valentino Rock & Rose body lotion for my birthday. I love the smell and it can't be a sign of old age because I just turned 22.

Second the Paul Smith Rose perfume ( I have the slightly fresher, summer edition). I have had no end of compliments about it.

Darrell, I subscribe to She magazine and the subscription offer this month is the WELEDA one talked about earlier, day and night cream and I think Body Lotion.

My magazine only arrived today by post so it will hit the news stands soon

You know this is happening to me. Never used to be bothered about rose scent but adore it now. I'm 48, menopausal and in love with the scent of roses even buying plants. Hormones you think?

shhhh · 14/07/2009 12:58

lol never thought about it as being an age thing .

I also am going through a rose stage.. At 30, I don't class myself as old though !!

I bought Jo Malone rose body cream last week....I took it back. Honestly, the bottle smelled devine BUT once on me it was rancid (horse manure springs to mind..yup.) Even dh was a bit about a "smell" whenever I was near..

I though JM would be like "you bought it so tough" BUT they were great. Made me feel a tad silly for buying it not having tested it for a while 1st BUT im an impluse buyer and not one to test/trial something then buy it days later..!

They exchanged it without a problem.

Still love it though, ended up with the bath oil in rose.
Oh I also love parma violets (very rose/flowery) bed linen spray and luurrvve turkish delight and get a lovely box of rose/parma violet tasting chocs from selfridges . The one way I know noone will dare touch my chocs . Dh & the kids hate them .

L'Occitane do a wonderful range of rose scents. I have some of the hand cream, and they also do it as a perfume here.

LaundryFairy · 14/07/2009 13:00

Here is their full range of rose scented items

Have just been to WAitrose and treated myself to Tisserand Wild rose hand and nail cream
Am using at work and is cheering me up no end
Am loving all the suggestions, and thanks LFC will take a look at She this month.
Smelt the soap in Waitrose and wasn't a big fan.
So i have body cream, hand cream, my next purchase will be soap, or shower gel, and save the big guns, the perfume for Christmas and birthday
Thankyou everyone, have really enjoyed this thread.REN stuff looks good, it all looks good
DH is laughing lots as I am renowned for having crazes and Rose is so obviously my latest craze
