Stretchmarks and consequent pregnancies.

Acquired loads of stretchmarks when pregnant with my son 11 years ago.

Do you get even more stretchmarks during your 2nd pregnancy or does the skin stretch in the same places/marks?

Thanks in advance.

I got no extra ones with ds, and he was almost a pound heavier than dd, and 6cm longer. I don't think there was any room left for new ones tbh . I worried about it too but it was fine, and they weren't red and angry looking like first time round, they stayed pretty faded

Hmmm...

Wonder if I'd ever be that lucky, littlelamb...

Anyone else?

I didn't get extra ones with my second, but the ones from my first stretched even more IYSWIM? They weren't as bad and most have faded, have one really deep one just below my knicker line though.

I don't think I got any extra ones with DS2 but I think thats because my stomach was covered in them from DS1...No room for new ones

I had large vertical ones from DS, and then some fairly small horizontal ones from DD. I'm an interesting checkerboard.

pebblebeach · 08/07/2009 19:33

Sorry... I got some with DD and now 31 weeks into second pg.. the vertical marks are growing from the top, so it looks like white silvery lines with angry red tops... not what you want to hear.

Am very at those that didn't get more 2nd time round...

PortAndLemon · 08/07/2009 19:43

I didn't get any more second time round, but then I didn't get any until 37 weeks first time, and DD at full term was about the same size that DS would probably have been at 37 weeks.

MrsMattie · 08/07/2009 19:47

I got a few small ones on my stomach 2nd time around but nothing like the carnage of my first pregnancy!

loler · 08/07/2009 19:49

My dc like to spot their own lines on my tummy. DD's went up and down, ds1's are sort of diagonal either side (he was biggest), ds2 was breach and only caused one right at the top of my tummy where his head was.

I don't really care about them as my bikini wearing days are well and truely over so the only person to really see them is dh and I blame him for not passing on the genes for little babies!

On a lighter note you could get lucky!

I got loads as a teenager.

Tons with dc1.

None with dc2.
