How do I grow my bob out?

Currently have an outgrown graduted bob and want to grow my hair long again but how do I do this? Its starting to get to the arrgh stage where I want to chop it all off.

What can I do with it to make it feel stylish? When I grow it long I'm aiming for it to be shoulder length with long layers and a sweeping fringe. Its very straight and dark brown.

Help!

Erm... don't get it cut.

IME you have to go through the argh stage and perhaps experiment with drying differently, using different products or hair clips/bands etc. You have to grit your teeth and hope your hair grows quickly.

Or get extensions while yours grows

Is it long enough to get a trim to make it all one length, maybe with some shaping at the front? That would grow easily without looking ragged and you could just go to the hairdresser every few months for a very little trim until it's long enough to do what you want with it. If you already have a bob, growing it to shoulder length shouldn't take too long.

I find a bob is one of the easiest styles to grow out. Just keep blow drying it and it will look half decent.

put it up a lot? (am at the same stage so sypathise). hairdresser claims if you cut it more regularly it will grow more and you should have it trimmed every six weeks just not much off. sounds like a ruse to encourage haircuts but who knows.....

Not quite long enough to make it all one length yet - can just about get it in a v small ponytail. Will see if I can get through this month without a trip to the hairdressers.

It grows quite quickly so hopefully the argghh stage shouldn't last too long!?

I waited until mine was an inch above my shoulders and had some long. choppy layers put in and a side-swept fringe. It made a big difference as I went from "desperately trying to grow out a style" to "proper hair style" with a few snips. My hairdresser took nothing off the bottom lengths so I didn't feel as though I had lost everything I had spent the last few months growing

Try not to get it cut for as long as possible. Isn't a bob one of the easiest hairstyles to grow out anyway?

I have never understood what woodstock3's hairdresser claims. How the hell does your hair know whether it has been cut or not? When I grew out my short haircut my hairdresser told me to hold out getting it cut for as long as possible!

Ever 6 weeks is advisable if the hair is in poor condition otherwise 12 weeks is fine.
