Clothes shopping in Northen Spain? Any tips?

Anyone here a regular traveler to Spain. I don't have the time or inclination to do holiday shopping in UK. Would it be hugely expensive in Spain? Would the fashions for a forty year woman in Spain suit a 40 yr old in the Uk?
I would rather shop in Spain as my cousins or Aunt can look after Ds and I can go out shopping with the other. Also I think ds will find the different shops interesting

Gorgeous childrens clothes shops include Neck and Neck and Gocco. For adults I like Trucco and that old favourite Zara, much more choice and cheaper than elsewhere. We go to San Sebastian very often and I buy almost all my childrens clothes there. Have a fab time

Thank you. We will be near La Coruna I'm sure they have their own selection of High Street shops. Must go and get some travellers chqs.

I love shopping in Spain. Having said that, haven't been there since the Euro became so expensive for us.
I would look at Adolfo Dominguez and Massimo Dutti as well as Zara. If there's a Corte Ingles in La Coruna, that would be worth checking out too. Not sure about kid's clothes as I haven't been since having DD.
Also, Spain's brilliant for shoes!

Thank you. Yes, shoes are fab. Brought wedges in Zara many years ago (before they came here)they were most comfortable heels I have ever had. We have a Massimo Dutti here so I might pop in to compare & contrast the prices before I go. Not try anything on. Must find out more about Euro. What is it to the pound?

Not sure where they are but Barcelona had a fab shop called Sfera - sure its a chain. I brought 3 white cotton tops/shirts/smocks as they were all around 15 euros and a pair of blue converse style shoes for 15 euros. Had lots of choice and styles - friend brought a great jacket and sundress. Worth looking out for!

I used to shop in Barcelona- it's great!
As well as Mango and Zara they have lots of georgeous boutiques.
Brigitte Bijouteria is ok for inexpensive jewelry and the market on La Ramblas is good for more unusual finds.

Is it Burshka? It's something like that but the clothes are quite young and topshopish.

Lived in Oviedo and Salamanca for a while and think the clothes shopping in Spain is absolutely fab- beats Italy hands down for both quality and price...bags, shoes etc are brilliant...and still have a Zara cardigan I bought in 1986 and it looks brand new....

Oh, yes I've got a Sfera top I still like. There's a Bershka in Oxford St London but it's not my cup of tea. They used to do nicer stuff. I bought a lovely pair of trousers from a Belgian branch a few years ago but they London branch doesn't seem to have anything I like.

Massimo Dutti and Adolfo Dominguez are posher.

Zara and Sfera are my favourites for tops.

Mango I find a bit TOO "fashion" as they say in Spain.

One thing, they cut trousers and skirts smaller than in UK IMO, so if you're anything over a size 14 it will be difficult to find anything to fit in the main highstreet stores.

BTW, the summer sales have already started here, so if you're looking for summer clothes it may be a bit hit and miss, depending on when you're coming to Spain. They've already got the autumn collections starting to arrive.

Cies I am over size 14 I'll look this year and diet for next time. Thanks for the tips.
