what is the best matching shade and brand of nail varnish please?

I would go for something completely clashing such as turquoise

Barry M do a fab neon turquoise that doesn't make your toes look like they are dropping off with the cold

it is cocolepew's find. i got it for assistant for birthday too. you do need really good remover though or toes look filthy afterwards.

I have the shoes - and a tiny, tiny bottle of perfectly matching varnish that my sister found in the States and which I have now lost. So I am watching this thread with interest. Currently, I am wearing mine with grey MAC nail varnish.
(I love the shoes, and was very happy to see them in TK Maxx, thus saving a few squids)

If it were your nails I'd say base coat of black for lovely depth then cheap (Barry M?) shiny purple over the top.

For a gift I think you'd best go contrast - you won't get that intensity of goth purple in one bottle!
