good shorts for apples? by which i mean something that won't make me look like the policeman out of Noddy?

if it's going to be a scorcher i need to get out of my jeans. could wear skirts, of course, but on very hot days that takes me into the chafing zone.

and where would i get these loose linen ones from? i do have skinny legs, tink, if that's a consolation. i'm not young, nor am i ancient.

Loose linen ones in Next. Typed this last night just as connection went.

Hiya. Am also an apple, so have relatively good legs compared to my fat tum.

Under no circumstances get those shorts that come to your knees, unless you are 8 stones and 6ft 2. They will make you look matronly, I guarantee. The shorts that go to mid-thigh are the best. I got a denim pair from m&s and (whisper it) a pair from Boden which are fab.

Linen crops a good idea, though.

I want a pair of shorts too. I wish I knew what shape I am and what would look good least bad.

oh do huff. or have a look at trinny & susannah's thingy my colleague has the book (hidden at the bottom of her in tray) so i could see what they say for you.

i think mid-thigh slim fit is best for apples. possibly in a mid-pale colour with a darker top if one is a largish apple.

how funny that you should say that about shorts... i tried some on and looked, well, like an elderly lesbian on a camping trip.

i went into Next (whose door i have not darkened in recent years except to return pale pink baby clothes) and got a really plain dark blue pair of cropped jeans. i tried to link to them, couldn't see them on the site. i also got a couple of tops that i think will be handy for summer... they have a draw string so you can kinda pull the volume back in at the bottom.

so it looks like the backs of my calves will be the only parts of my body to see the light this summer. hey ho! thanks!
