Calling DarrelR and Florence - the playsuit has landed

mrsshackleton · 12/06/2009 17:39

I posted a long message on this and it disappeared into the mn ether

But briefly - it is actually v flattering, heavy material (and machine washable! [boring emoticon}, not too clingy but still giving a bit of shape. My dh likes it and he is unimpressed by much of my wardrobe.

However, it will be a 'mare to make wees in as to get it off you have to undo dozens of teeny, fiddly buttons. No good after wine has been taken or even before judging by my attempts to put it on today.

So I will think on it, this weekend but it'll probably go back. If you have the patience and are fixated on a playsuit I'd recommend it though

And you know when an outfit makes you fell great, you look even better

Ooh Darrell, I am so happy you like it

Now we are hopefully all off the hook with Elizabeth

Am v impressed you managed to wiggle past the buttons - either I have hugely wide shoulders or I've missed a trick. The parcel is sitting upstairs waiting to be returned, so I'll give it one more try (though browsing in Theory this morning I saw a dress I loved there and convinced myself the "saving" on the playsuit would cover it )

Don't thank me, thank the cube man. Who would have known my far-off ancient love life could result in such sartorial happiness down the line

It was me who mentioneed Anusha, so I feel very pleased that the playsuit makes you feel so fab and swooshy, Darrell.

may i ask - when would you wear a playsuit like this - actually more the m and s one i am referring to - is the m and s one a 'going out' item? - looks a bit work-ish?

Darell, i'm about 5'1 is there any hope it would fit me, i also large norks 32E to be exact would i look too stumpy and busty? Its really lovely.

I'm not a fan of that M&S one at all.

WNC, if your legs are the same length as mine , you would be ok, but I only could make it work with wedges and a party situation.
Any less inches in the leg department and it would be v treacherous coming down the stairs
I reckon the M+s is more daytime wear, whereas the anusha one i shall wear to several parties over the next few months
Can't wait now

Oh bum.

Have been dithering too long, and it's sold out in my size. Give it a little wear for me too, Darrell.

Darrell, I gave mine another go last night but there is no way I can wiggle in to it. I need to undo all the buttons and - timed - that takes about five minutes

You must have very narrow shoulders

Looking forward to the photo

I have been lurking on this thread and now ordered one - although Elizabeth is on holiday so I have to wait a week for it. I'm also looking at some silver Jimmy Choo wedges to go with it.

Hopefully, the sudden rise in Mumsnet-related sales will allow Elizabeth to employ a lackey and keep the glamorous world of slinky playsuits on the move.

By the way just spent the Anusha refund money on this dress but in purple - not available online but in the shop. It looks great, though I say so myself

And now you and I will not have a catfight if we bump into eachother at parties, Darrell

Sadly, Mrs Shackleton, I am not the owner of Anusha although I would love to be. The idea of being on holiday and making people wait for my exquisite designs is very appealing, but in reality I can barely sew a button and always get the kids those iron on name stickers

I am, however, MD of LK Bennett

Love the dress!

MrsS,I like the dress
when are you wearing it ?
Florence, whenever i hear that bullet song i think of you, i do like your mane
i shall get Dh to take photo of me on jumpsuit on July3rd, date of 1st party, so shall be able to post it then
I haven't had the time to get dressed up again in all my finery as things have been pretty hectic here

Can't wait to see the pic.

I imagine Florence with long red hair - is this so? Darrell I'm afraid I imagine with short brown hair and a lacrosse stick.

Glad dress is approved, I am off to Russia on a business trip tomorrow and will wear it for key meetings, realised jeans and floaty top wouldn't cut if with the Muscovites who are pretty chichi. Am sooo happy with it, it actually looks nicer on than in the photo.

Darryl, very excited about upcoming photo and glad you like my name.

MrsS, I do not have long red hair, but did once upon a time thanks to my teenage Kate Bush obsession. I have a brunette bob these days. I try to sell it as classic but fear that the word 'practical' may enter into things.

Have a great trip to Russia. You are so bloody glamorous, woman!
