Brogues......should I?

I love them but am v. old so can't wear them like DD - leggings and floaty jacket.

How else can I wear them - I'm 5'9, size 12. I do like the Katherine Hepburn, wide-legged trouser thing but don't want to look butch or frumpy (strangely enough!)

KH fine
skirt of the right ilk with tanned legs and a tight top

If you are working a KH vibe, fabulous. HOWEVER, if you are working an Agy Deyn look.......just step away!!

BodenGroupie · 12/06/2009 08:47

Did the Agy Deyn look, complete with the hair, in the 1980s - don't think I'll be doing it again . Will also be avoiding the style of my first teacher who wore them with ankle socks and a tweed skirt!

KH it is, thanks both of you.

Knee length tweed skirt, thick tights, polo jumper and Russell and Bromley tassle brogues (now hideously over priced since Alexa Chung took to wearing) - a good (if potentially frumpy without correct 'look) autumn outfit IMHO.

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2009 18:55

PS Will bow to other MNers superior knowledge regarding how NOT to look frumpy.

plantwoman · 12/06/2009 19:08

cropped trousers (those 7/8th ones - not too short) - or trousers rolled up a bit I think.

ninah · 12/06/2009 19:11

ah frumpy's the new fly

MrsSeanBean · 12/06/2009 19:16

If frumpy tweed is hot I may yet be 'fashionable'

BodenGroupie · 13/06/2009 10:42

I'm so frumpy I don't know what fly means
