I saw the most gorgeous dress today.

Unfortunately it was being worn rather than in a shop so I have no idea where its from. I didn't dare ask the very glam lady where it came fro mas I was in the middle of a bike ride and felt very sweaty and frumpy. So now I'm online searching every shop going looking for it, of course it could be 5 years old.

It was electric blue, with a kind of scalloped hem. Just above knee length and with some sort of colour/pattern above the hem. Has anyone seen anything like it recently? I want this dress badly.

was it this if so I have one and wore it last weekend and got SO many compilments, it looks far nicer on than the website does it justice!

suwoo · 30/05/2009 22:08

I've got one similar to the image and the description. It was from Primark and was £12

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 30/05/2009 22:14

Clure - its very similar to that dress but I don't think the one I saw was strapless.

here is worth a look, at least to find a similar style, narrow it down a wee bit.

Kew, Top Shop, Toast, might have something in that style...or matches.

I had a look, but saw nothingthat matched what you have described.

suwoo · 31/05/2009 19:34

I bet its my one from Primark . It has an eleasticated waist and a low neck. The hem, neckline and sleeve edge are all cut old and finished with gold embroidery.

drlove8 · 31/05/2009 20:23

ooooooh nice!

Clure · 31/05/2009 20:35

that is a nice frock suwoo

suwoo · 31/05/2009 21:18

That was some good detective work FlyingMonkey. I am hugely pregnant too and it looks fabe over leggings with gold gladiator sandals if I say so myself .

I have it in the black too. Its actually much, much nicer in real life.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 01/06/2009 19:56

Aggggh, the auction's ended and the link doesn't show a pic now. Still I'm off to Primark tomorrow. Thanks.

i dont like.

littlelamb · 01/06/2009 20:13

I tried that on thinking it would be lovely but I htink you have to be a whippet to pull it off. It looks like they put the waist a few inches too low

suwoo · 01/06/2009 21:05

I aint no whippet littlelamb, I am a heavily pregnant waddling person. I still have room in the 14 though .

Grattage, that picture does it no justice whatsoever.

littlelamb · 01/06/2009 21:40

Ah but pregnant people have special dispensation from usual fashion rules. I wore things when I was pregnant that I wouldn't get away with without bump. I am sure it looks lovely on you

suwoo · 01/06/2009 21:44

Thanks littlelamb . I think the waist is a bit high actually, it sits just under my boobs.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 02/06/2009 14:15

I've got it. It is the Primark one and it looks fab on. Thanks for tracking it down for me.

Brokenspacebar, I have added ShopStyle to my faves - what a useful site!

Lizzylou · 02/06/2009 14:23

I saw a woman wearing "your" dress at the weekend Stripey, it is lovely.
Lovely colour too.

suwoo · 02/06/2009 16:01

Ahem

I think you'll find it was me who said it would be that one.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 02/06/2009 16:54

Thanks Suwoo

.

Did you get the black or the horrible yellow aswell? I've got the black and the blue.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 02/06/2009 18:07

Just got the blue. We have 2 Primarks in town and at the first one they only had yellow ones left. Wonder why?

OP posts:
noddyholder · 02/06/2009 18:11

I saw that in primark the black is lovely and much better quality than they usually sell.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 02/06/2009 21:28

Do you think this cardigan would go with the blue dress? I've been struggling to think what colour would go and thought either orange or white.
