How to get rid of a lovebite?

I have been seeing a new guy recently and last night he gave me some lovebites on my neck. I bruise easily anyway and he was not sucking my neck really hard or anything but I have now got 3 small lovebites on my neck.

They look disgusting and the worse thing is I am getting my daughter christened on Sunday and need to get rid of them quick.

I have heard you can put tooth paste on them to get rid of them but am worried that it could bring them out even more. Has anyone got any experince of them and how to get rid of them quickly?

Today I tried to cover them with make up and I wore a scarf but they were still noticable and 2 people asked me about them.

I have never had any on my neck before and it makes me feel like i'm cheap.... Please help...

Well i do recall from my teenage years that toothpaste was used by some people. Goodness knows if it worked though.

I cant wear a polo neck in this hot weather, also I am more worried about getting rid of them as have already picked a dress to wear this sunday and cannot go to my daughters christening with them on my neck...

you'll just have to cover them with heavy duty concealer. tesco make up one is quite good.

maybe they'll be smaller tomorrow.

littlelamb - I feel exactly the same as you... I do not think he meant to do it and I do bruise easily at the moment, but am still not happy about it atall....

well they are a bruise - so you can't do anything to get rid of them.

Arnica may speed things but unlikely to be gone by Sunday

traceybath · 29/05/2009 22:11

If the skin's not broken how about some arnica - cream and tablets?

silk scarf tied in a chic way around your neck? If you get it to match your outfit no one will be any the wiser.

notoverit · 29/05/2009 22:13

southeastastra - good idea, get a different concealer... I think I just panicked because my concealer did not work..

Tortoise - I am thinking you may be right about get rid of the person who gave them to me, but I dont think he meant to do it, and I really have been brusing easily recently...

traceybath - what does arnica do? will it help them fade or bring them out more before they fade? as have only got 2 days...

Aimsmum - no was not planning on wearing a polo neck...

Hairymuff - the dress I was going to wear would not look good with a scarf, but I might have to d that anyway...
