Dress code = smart, fun and glamorous - need guidance

Going to a sleb tastic do which has the smart, fun and glamorous dress code to follow.

If you were size 10, 5ft 3, small busted but otherwise in proportion, what would you wear?

I look best in brown, purple, orange, dark green, red, peacock blue - autumnal colours.

I'm considering wearing a Ted Baker dress I've got (orange assymetric tight fit, with neon pink shoes and bag), but I'm also open to ideas as this dress needs some repair work done.

Oh and looking at previous pics of the event where the dress code has been black tie then the women wore floor length dresses. Mine is knee length. Is that going to be OK?

Here's the dress I'm thinking of wearing

The dress is great.

I think knee length or floor length are both ok for a black tie do.

dairymoo · 29/05/2009 13:37

I think that dress rocks - wear that definitely. I would either wear pink shoes or bag, not both though. Have fun!

Silver bag then? I need a bag.

Why not pink?

Just my opinion - don't like matching shoes and bag. Silver would be good!

Jewelsandgems · 29/05/2009 13:46

I am wearing knee length to a black tie event - and I always do (I attend the same event each year) and it is good to be a bit different anyway! Plus I have good legs and seems silly to hide them under material and I feel sexier in knee length than floor length

P.S I had the same dress and it is lovely (after events I sell my dresses on ebay - it's not as if I can wear it again!). Accessories-wise, I wore champagne colour shoes and bag but the event I wore it too was a corporate one - the neon sounds great for yours

Great dress!

BunnyLebowski · 29/05/2009 13:52

Dress is stunning! I would go for the pink - the clashing pink would look great imo

Someone linked to these the other day - thought they were lush!

Fab Dune shoes

Close - these are my shoes.

The thing is everyone else will be soopa-doopa-designer-tastic. There will be A-listers there.

I just made the mistake of looking on net-a-porter and am wondering if mine will be too lowly. I'll be the only one there dripping in cubic zircona.

Jewelsandgems - this is a sort of corporate do - DH works for the sponsor. Should I tone it down a bit then?

Love those shoes pennies

Well my do was corporate, but maybe I should have inserted the word 'boring' before 'corporate'. A listers and celebs sound soooo much more fun

It sounds as if you are going to have a great night so if you find yourself wondering about getting a designer dress, maybe order a few and see? On the other hand, that ted baker dress is very classy, and sounds like you have a lovely figure. I seriously doubt anyone will be looking down their noses at you
