I've got white wedges from Russell and Bromley (they are about 8 years old - practically vintage!) but just not sure if they are right. Also the dress is very short so is it a bit tarty to wear very high heels?

I'm nearly 36 and having a last minute panic that I have bought something too young and flirty

Lovely dress!

I think no to the white wedges. How about something like this?

Too young and flirty? Well yes it is - but why not? It's not slutty, i love the shape and the colour. And at 36 you should look young and flirty

Or these:

Thank you!

I completely agree about the white wedges. I tried it again with some shoes I already have that are a sort of pewter colour and I feel much more comfortable in those. I love both of your suggestions but think I have really run out of time now.

Note to self - in future don't leave shopping for an outfit until the week of the wedding!

I love the abyss ones. I looked for navy shoes originally but couldn't find any.

Not sure if I could walk in them though let alone fling myself around a ceilidh!

I would go for something like this

Goober · 28/05/2009 20:17

.....and I am 36 too.[ancient emoticon]

blissieblue · 28/05/2009 20:35

yes Goober I thought about flats too but then it might look a bit little girl'ish as the skirt is quite flouncy and twirly.

I've got another wedding in October - ultra smart, no ceildh...maybe I could justify these
