I quite fancy something like this but is a real fashion mistake. Is it likely to look good on a real person.

Hmm tricky...see in those colours I mentally see that model as a 75yo granny with a purple rinse.

However it does look nice on the model.

Have they got other colours? Black would be great!

NationalFlight · 28/05/2009 07:57

In fact I want one in black!

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 08:02

This is not the actual one I like, its just to give an idea but the one I like is blue too. I am just bored with a one piece and my tummy is like a crepe so I would not dare wear a bikini.

I bought one years ago - pale blue with navy polka dots - and it is very flattering, especially if you carry weight on your tummy.

But when you swim in it, the skirt bit floats around you in a rather odd way!

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 08:14

black
one in black for you National flight.

Oh that's quite nice! Thankyou.

I'd say go for it.

I really would prefer one with legs though as well, my thighs are my worst bit.

fishie · 28/05/2009 08:16

i think they are ok if you are that sort of victorian pear shape, with slender shoulders and nice arms.

otherwise you risk looking like you are trying to hide too much rather than showing off best bits.

seeker · 28/05/2009 08:19

But if it's from Orvis, don't you have to carry a 12-bore all the time?

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 08:19

I really hate the tops of my thighs and a bit of my tummy. I am not big about a size 10. I just thought it might be simeting a bit different to wear occasionally.

OP posts:
leothelioness · 28/05/2009 08:20

something-simeting oops

I would love to wear something like this, seeing as I didn't really get to grips with a diet & fitness plan this year...

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 08:22

no this is not the actual one I will go for its just that I am not in the UK saw one in a shop but have not got around to trying it on yet and wanted to get some opinions.

OP posts:
leothelioness · 28/05/2009 08:23

I really want one of those too bitoffun

Now you're talking, BoF!

womma · 28/05/2009 08:59

There's a lovely one on the Toast website. I'm waiting for the sale to nab it. I'll save a fortune on bikini waxes with it.

macherie · 28/05/2009 10:45

Leo, I have one, it's black halter neck and it's lovely. I'm a size 10, but I just wanted something different. I get loads of compliments on it. I'll try to find it - hold on!

BitOfFun · 28/05/2009 10:48

Lol womma, it practically pays for itself then!

Macherie, we need a picture of you in it on your profile so we can judge see

macherie · 28/05/2009 10:49

here

The toast one is lovely too

macherie · 28/05/2009 10:51

BOF, in your dreams

BitOfFun · 28/05/2009 10:56

< snurk >

Both very nice, I agree. I still favour the burkha or staying home this year though...

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 11:01

I like that one macherie. I think I will go an try the blue one I have my eye on before I decide.

OP posts:
leothelioness · 28/05/2009 11:08

oh BOF a stylish shuttlecock burka this is perfect for a lovely dip in the sea and sunbathing plus no need to spend money on sunblock, a bikini wax or leg wax or clothes for that matter.

BitOfFun · 28/05/2009 11:18

Fab...you could even just send someone else to do some impressive front-crawl in it while you stay at the pool bar and eat chips

leothelioness · 28/05/2009 11:24

I'll look out for you on the beach BOF. I'll be the on sitting at the bar with chips in a floral granny swimdress.

Lands End have some nice stuff and they do plain colours (including black) as well as patterns - got myself a swim mini from there & it's fab.
