Bed clothes - I know nothing!

I am looking for some new bed linen for dd's room and having trawled the net am getting bored and feeling guilty at leaving dd to make do with tv while I search.

The bedroom walls are white apart from the main wall which is in this wall paper - I hate it now but it was really expensive and we only did it the month before she was born (she's 1). We've just paid a fortune for a new blind and lampshade which are pink with the same vermicelli swirly things like the wallpaper.

However I now have no idea what bedlinen to go for. We have a double bed in her room and her cot but need stuff for the double guest bed. We have a blue set which is okay but has wee stains on now - baby's not ours I must point out!!

I am not very good at textiles etc but I don't like polyester or pericale for sleeping.

Anyone with a bit more knowledge & style in this area would be very grateful for suggestions of where to look etc.... May copy post to housekeeping too....

Does wee stain? Maybe not on cheap quality duvet covers, lol.

The ones we have must've been cheap because they itch like mad. Anyway - they have a series of faint wee rings on them. Not the kind of look I was going for.

wee stains if it dries on before being washed.

How about sticking to plain white bedlinen?

monkeysmama · 27/05/2009 15:25

Overmydeadbody has outed my occasional slovenly washing routine. Indeed it was a day or two before I washed the cover after the nappy free crawling wee incident.

I think white's dangerous in her room. I'd prefer a colour - possibly something blue and pink?
