Gym regulars, do you take the piss out of the newbies?

Ok, so enough is enough, I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get my size 16 butt to the gym or I won't fit back in my work clothes . Am a bit scared, however, of looking like a plonker in front of the regulars. Do you fit young things laugh at the newbies and judge their big bums or take no notice?

Grattage I feel abit left out not having a baby iPod, but DH got me an MP3 player ages ago which works fine so I'll stick with that. He'd only at me if I said I was getting an iPod.

Not sure if any of you will see this but I wanted to revive it to say thanks again for such a nice, encouraging thread. I've been going to the gym pretty much one day in two since the start of the month and I'm really enjoying it.

I am still self-conscious, but I just put my headphones on and read or watch TV and the time flies by. I feel a lot better after each session, too, so the endorphins are working their magic. It's given me the confidence to get off my backside and do it, and it's entirely possible I might just go the distance and lose some weight!

Oh good!

Good on ya Fairmaiden. I've been going for 3 weeks now. I can't see a difference yet but DH said to give it at least 6 weeks before I see results. I'm enjoying it though
