OPI Gel Nails Anyone tried them?

OK, so I know false nails are disaproved of by the majority of Mumsnetters, but I want to know if they will trash my own nails.

I need the truth.

I haven't done OPI, but I currently have BioSculpture gel overlays on my natural nails - NailsInc label it as a 3 week manicure as it is like a slightly thick layer of nail varnish that doesn't crack, peel, or chip. I had them renewed yesterday (they soak off so are replaced entirely each time) and my nails were perfect underneath. Friend has been having them for 6 months, and her nails are beautiful underneath
