can you over layer?

I saw a woman today in linen trousers, a long dressy tunic thing and then a light smocky coat.
she looked like she couldnt decide what to wear.

Ditto vest, t shirt, cardigan jacket types

i'm a vest cardi girl..any more layers and I'm sweating

3 layers are my max. e.g Long sleeved T, print blouse, jacket. I think any more and I would be uncomfortable.

It depends on the season. I can easily wear 4 layers in winter / spring / autumn, if it's cold and I'm outside.

Whitefish that sounds like too much fabric and volume going on. The best layering has a slim fitting piece somewhere.
