Can you help me? Wedding to go to - would this be OK?

I'm going to a wedding next month, a rather Boho sort of affair. Do you think

this

would be OK, with a pink shrug and sandals (they say it's purple, btw, but it's really a kind of fuchsia pink)? Or is it too informal?

No I think that would be fine. Wear some dangle earrings and take a clutch.

paisleyleaf · 25/05/2009 11:34

I think that's just right

midnightexpress · 25/05/2009 11:38

Cripes, dangle earrings, now there's a thing I haven't worn in a long time (too many small children around).

But glad it seems to have your approval ladies. . Thanks. Now all I need is to justify the outlay.

I will wear it again, I will wear it again...

Yes you will wear it again on holiday with a denim jacket and flip flops.

midnightexpress · 25/05/2009 11:39

Ah yes, those mediterranean holidays I never seem to have , but yes, even summer in the city, with a denim jacket adn flip flops, hey?

deffo. Or wedges for drinks in the pub in the evening.

midnightexpress · 25/05/2009 11:41

I feel better already!

Can you hear my purse creaking open?

perfect. No shrug though, if you can bear it - would ruin it.

Dangle feather earrings perfect, if you can find some. Will have a look for you if keen.

midnightexpress · 25/05/2009 12:03

d'you think, letthemeatcake? Upper arms not what they once were, plus lots of garden involved, in the evening, so would need something over the top.

I think a wrap or shawl then. Shrugs don't work with maxis imo - they're better with a prom-style dress.
Too 'structured' for a maxi if you get me - need something flowy and boho-y, in keeping with the dress, does that make sense?

Beautiful dress, just right for a boho wedding. A pashmina in deep purple/ivory or cardi would work I think

john lewis

monsoon

Heated · 25/05/2009 14:16

purple but hard to know if it would match in rl

midnightexpress · 25/05/2009 14:32

Oh thanks for the links heated. Part of the reason I thought it might be good is that I already have a shrug in exactly the same shade of pink (from Monsoon in fact last year) - might be a bit too matchy-matchy, so might have a look at that one with the satin trim if I go in to try the dress on.

Hmm yes, I see what you mean. Will consider further.

damn.
