I'm short, chunky and 32 and I wear them. Maybe I should have a rethink...or some wine.

I am also considering stepping back into leggings for the first time since 1991.I wear a lot of dresses over jeans or linen trousers and leggings look somehow less fussy.I'm short, slim but 41 -dare I?

littlelamb · 24/05/2009 20:45

Leggings are fine after dark imo. I wouldn't wear them in the daytime but when I was out last night I would say the majority of girls were wearing them. As long as you wear something longish over them

nevergoogledragonbutter · 24/05/2009 20:45

i wear them at home, with something long over them.
but not out of the house.

YesSirICanBoogie · 25/05/2009 12:04

I think it all depends on wearing something long and the size of your ankles

minko · 25/05/2009 14:36

Well, I'm wearing mine today and trying not to feel self conscious. I'm 38 and a 5'10" size 14. There's only 6" of legging sticking out under my dress, but I still feel a bit muttony...

cheesesarnie · 25/05/2009 16:11

oooh now some are saying maybe and im sober and i dunno!!
slim ankles.would not show bum.

I'm 40, a size 14 and I wear them. It took me a year to work up the courage though . I wear 3/4 length under dresses with ballet pumps or Birkinstocks.

And I look pretty good, even if I say so myself (cos nobody else would )

noddyholder · 25/05/2009 16:22

I am 44 and wear them a lot. They can be quite elegant although with dresses I prefer footless tights as they are thinner and more 'evening' iykwim.Go for it 31 and skinny you can wear anything you like

cheesesarnie · 25/05/2009 16:24

i love you noddy

coco im sure you are bootiful.

cheesesarnie · 25/05/2009 21:26

I'm 32 and I wear them all the time. Usually under dresses as an alternative to thick black tights. They go with so many things. Love 'em.

My rule is - no bum showing. Not a glimpse. So either dresses or very long tops over them.

minxofmancunia · 25/05/2009 21:56

I'm 34 and regularly wear leggings with something at least mid thigh length over the top. am size 8-10 usually and 5'8". 6 months pg at the mo and have just got my topshop maternity leggings out of storage!

no way too old, get ye self down to Topshop (best quality IMO)

cheesesarnie · 25/05/2009 22:00

.at 5"2 im not too short for them am i?
