Simplest bikini hair removal method please

Almost complete novice here. Have shaved slightly before but am contemplating a thorough job this time in order to wear a bikini for the first time.
Don't feel madly keen to get waxed at a salon due to shyness and pain aversion. But if I bit the bullet or attempted it at home would I need to trim first to shorten hair?
Or should I just shave again but more?
Oh and I have tried hair removal cream once and was left patchily bald. If you recommend cream do I need to trim first then too?
Thanks.

Gentle shaving with lots of shaving cream is quick and non invasive. In the shower is easiest for me.

I wouldn't start home waxing on the bikini line. That's not a beginner's level!

Ok thanks.
I can start on that and see how it goes.

Try Venus Breeze - a razor with a gel bar thingy so no shaving creme required. Best thing I've come across and not at all painful unlike waxing which I never got used to!

Is there a trick to going round that big tendon on the inside of the thigh?

Get someone else to wax it for you - my DP does it while I watch the telly Works/lasts better than shaving for me.

FlyMeToDunoon · 22/05/2009 16:46

I cannot imagine letting DP loose with wax down there!
Ouch.
