Particularly if you are a PA in your mid-twenties?

I am a teacher in my 30s rather than a PA in my 20s but today I wore black opaques, black short cullotte things from Oasis (that look like a skirt and are just over the knee); black square necked top; black and white striped cardigan: I was aiming for a sort of Minnie Mouse at work effect and three pupils said I looked nice!

Sounds lovely. She wants something smart but that doesn't make her appear like she has dressed above her age or station?

Its for my sister, she's 23.

basics in black or grey (wool trousers, nice pencil skirt, several vests), then can add nice cardis or crisp shirts over the top.

keep the bling to a minimum.

Suits, nothing else makes me feel professional and I'm a lazy bugger so a jacket/trousers/shirt combo is hard to get wrong.
Waistcoats look funky but still smart.

Other outfits -

Grey mottled-effect pencil skirt with kick pleats, black silk blouse, black tank top.

Charcoal wide-legged trousers with a very fine pinstripe, grey top, bright pink short sleeved v fitted cardigan.

Black just below the knee flarey skirt, black top, bright fitted cardigan, little silk scarf.

Can't be bothered outfit - plain black just above the knee 50s style dress with some sort of cardigan if needed.

I would say invest in a couple of decent, comfortable but smart pairs of shoes and some black or grey basics and then a couple of coloured bits like shirts, cardigans, blouses, scarves.

High vis jacket, hard hat and safety boots.

Or wide leg/bootleg tweed/pinstripe trousers, white shirt/top, cardy, boots.

Although when I was last at work I had been wearing the same black jersey maternity dress for about 6 weeks!

Today I have worn fitted black hummel tee shirt with a gold pattern on front. Black wide legged trews and gold converse. I'm pretending I'm in Run DMC. I am an HLTA in my late 30's btw!

When I was 23 I wore wide leg black wool trousers with a black fitted jacket and a plain scoop neck top. Every single day, like a man wears a suit and shirt. I had lots of scarves too. And brightly coloured pump type shoes. Not sure what the updated version of that is.
