Help! Can you help me find a wedding dress for my non weddingy wedding?

I'm 5ft 1 and Im 35. I am marrying the man I have been with for 19 years. I'm looking for something with a really simple - not a wedding dress. I want a scoop neck, 3/4 length sleeves and a really full skirt - colour isnt really important. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Failing that, where does really nice stuff for short people?

If you go to a bride shop, look in the bridesmaid section. My wedding dress was a bridemaid's dress, only I ordered it in a pale cream color and it was gorgeous, but not too weddingy. I would go to Monsoon if I were you, they have beautiful stuff, in gorgeous fabric like silk. Also, if you have only ONE idea in mind it might be very hard to find exactly what you want. It might be a good idea to shop around and try a few things on and see which style fits you best/is most comfy.

Monsoon always has some good non weddingy dresses.

Had a quick look at the obvious ones (Coast/Debenhams/etc), most seem to have short summery sleeves

If you find a short/strappy sleeved one, could you get a pretty bolero/shrug thingy? You can get some very pretty beaded/lacy ones.

Pettycoats could pad out a frock if it doesn't have the skirt 'fullness' you're after: I think netting in a contrasting colour looks pretty cool.

I'm same height as you and got married in a non weddingy dress. It came from a little shop selling nose-studs, jewellery and frocks! It was a sort of evening dress in shot silk. I looked in monsoon too and saw a few possibilities. how about ebay?
