I'm trying to save time and buy a pair online. I'm a size 5 UK, should I get a pair in size 4 - 4.5 as I understand they are bigger than standard shoes. I've bought a pair before but I can't remember what size I bought them in and I've lost them to check. . Anyone a Birkie expert. Or should I just take a trip out to a stockist and try them on? (I'd rather not though)

Try them on. I bought my usual size. They will look a bit clumpy anyway, but that Birkenstocks for you.

I am normally a 39.5/40 but need a 38 in Birkenstocks. Very annoying if they are too big. Remember they do different widths too.

I have a few pairs and all of them are a size below what I usually wear.
I know another mum who bought a pair in her usual size and they were huge her foot didn't fit in the footbed properly.

They've got some in TK Maxx for £20 at the moment if you can spare the time. I didn't try them cos they looked so wide.

I am normally a size 40 but have to have a 39 in Birkies. I do think their sizing is on the big size.

You do have to try them I think. I have multiple pairs. Saw some red patents the other day. Loving them.

i've got long toes and have my normal size. it looks awful if your toes are dangling over the edge.
