please find me a red wedge

bought these but they are a 41 and, truth be told, I am a 42.

so back they go.

But I neeeeeeeed a red wedge. Nowt too high, as am preggers and v.tall anyway - just a good, walkable, comfy, stylish, high-ish wedge to make me look taller and slimmer as I get bigger and rounder.

And so that I don't suffer from hem-drag with my flares.

Any ideas ladies?

They do some rubbish too but mostly I just drool over them. Some of them are most unusual. Well done Peggotty on your link btw!

LetThemEatCake · 20/05/2009 20:35

yes well done Peggotty!

Tracey, if you get a chance, would you measure the heel for me? sorry to be a pain...

Oh thanks will be doing links all over the place now!

AnybodyHomeMcFly · 20/05/2009 20:40

And here's me thinking this thread was going to be about Billy Bragg...

Tillyscoutsmum · 20/05/2009 20:41

Tracey's Next ones are 11 cm according to the link ...

LetThemEatCake · 20/05/2009 20:48

ah ha - maybe the faith ones then ... 8.5cm I think!!!

EatCake I love your original Link to Castaners.

With the slingback does it dig in? I have a sticky outie heel which a friend has called a "runners heel" (just after I gave her a lush pair of patent platform slingbacks which I'd only worn the once). I wonder if these wedges would accommodate such a heel? (hankering after the yellow) Or would an adjustable strap sling back (ie a buckle) be better pour moi.

LetThemEatCake · 20/05/2009 20:57

ooh, I don't know! Surely the slingback sits above the sticky-out bit of your heel? in case, the only way to know is try - so do it now!! there's 30% off all shoes at my-wardrobe at the mo!!! and free P&P i believe .. so you can try at home and send 'em back if you need to...

LetThemEatCake · 20/05/2009 20:57

in ANY case, I mean..

JeMeSouviens · 20/05/2009 21:00

They do sit above the sticky outy bit, but last pair I had dug in.

Would love to try and return, but I'm in Canada, and the shopping here is really, really pants. Not the north american shopping bonanza I expected prior to moving here! The only place that sells this brand here is in Toronto, only 2 places and a 5hr drive.

But I see the yellow is sold out in my size, on your link, otherwise I'd probably take a punt and have them shipped.

CHOOGIRL · 20/05/2009 21:04

LTEC shame the wedges didn't fit. Mine arrived yesterday very comfortable but didn't like the colour. Returned to Net-a-porter and ordered red from my wardrobe at 30% off and free postage! I think they come up small as I am size 39 and the 40 fitted perfectly.

JeMeSouviens · 20/05/2009 21:04

Is there a promo code for the 30% off? I may be tempted by the red.

JeMeSouviens · 20/05/2009 21:05

Choogirl, you'd recommend the next size up then?

CHOOGIRL · 20/05/2009 21:11

Code is bagsshoes30. I would recommend next size up - especially if you take 1/2 sizes. I am 39 tods, 39 in Jimmy Choo, 39 1/2 in Christian Louboutin, 39 1/2 in Prada.

HTH

LetThemEatCake · 20/05/2009 21:13

that's what I'd call a result Choogirl.

Since you are my shoe guru, what do you think to the Faith ones? these

JeMeSouviens ... you;d not get the discount, but since the Castaner ones are available on net-a-porter, why don't you order from the US site? They'll get shipped from NY that way....? much easier to return...

Sorry - got distracted by the idiots on the Apprentice - but that's another thread!! Like the wedges, but not sure if they wd be too high for playground, etc. You look to be used to heels though, so go for it!
