I have ordered loads recently and its all gone back. I would really like to find a shirt dress to wear on its own in summer or over leggings if the weather stays as it is. I am 5.9, 12-14 but pear shaped, more of a 10-12 on top. I have dark hair and eyes and suit strong colours, dark navy, purple, pinks and jade green.

I am also looking for tunic type tops, again maybe shirt style to wear over leggings and skinny jeans. I have quite a tummy and find that low waisted, button down things tend to hide it well. I can't wear anything jersey/flimsy though.

I am also desperate for jeans but will have to keep looking for those alone I think as its impossible without trying to know what suits. TIA.

where have you ordered from and rejected?

used2bthin · 19/05/2009 14:13

Oh I also woud like a couple of short sleeved long cardigans. Saw a nice one in primark but it was a sort of cream/beige colour which makes me look ill!

Is this the style of dress you are looking for?

dexter73 · 19/05/2009 14:15

New Look have loads of short sleeved long cardigans at the moment.

used2bthin · 19/05/2009 14:23

Sorry x posted there. I ordered a dress twice form Great plains, it was a horrible fit on me though, made me look all tummy. Then two dresses from m and s. Also two tunic style things from topshop which looked awful on me. We have no decent shops here!

Thanks dexter the new look cardigans are perfect. For the dress I am looking for something a bit shorter and more straight if that makes sense. I can't seem to wear things that tie round the waist either as my waist always seems in the wrong place!

[whispers] are you sure that button through shirt dresses are the best shape for you?

EldonAve · 19/05/2009 14:45

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 19/05/2009 14:56

Thank you the third warehouse one is lovely but I'd look ill in the colour sadly. What a brilliant website that shopstyle one is EldonAve! You have started something now!

TheRealMrsJohnSmith thank you, I should have said though it is just for day time toddler group type stuff so I think the Boden one would be too smart.

tHERE ARE A COUPLE i SAW ON SHOPSTYLE FROM kEW THAT i THINK WOULD BE GREAT SHAPOE WISE, i WILL LINK. wRONG COLOR AND PRICE THOUGH!

On second thoughts that one could make me look pg! Maybe I should just opt to lose weight instead!

Clure · 19/05/2009 22:07

not sure if this is what you mean? just a suggestion!

wondered about this style as an alternative

basic shirt dress

drop waist though not sure about colour

wrap dress?

dexter73 · 19/05/2009 22:11

What about this from Boden? It comes in purple. You can usually find a £10 off or 20% off code somewhere which would bring the price down a bit.

dexter73 · 19/05/2009 22:14

Just looked on the vouchers bit and 20% off code is T338.

used2bthin · 19/05/2009 22:15

Thanks Clure, the second from last (dropped waist one) is exactly the shape I mean. Only in thicker cotton and different colour. Oasis seems to have uite a lot in will check them out next time I go shopping, we actually have Oasis here. The second one is lovely but I am too flat chested for it . I also seem to be the only person in the world for whom wrap dresses are unflattering!

OP posts:
Clure · 19/05/2009 22:17

Actually I don't like them on me. I had quite a nice one from kookai which never looked or felt right and I gave it to my pregnant sister!

Remember seeing some of those drop waisted tunics in New Look and Primark a little while ago

used2bthin · 19/05/2009 22:22

Oh I will have a look in there, will be popping to New look anyway for the cardigan. I wore a wrap dress when pg actually, a friend gave it to me! It looked ok on me then bt just clings in the wrong places now!

OP posts:
Clure · 19/05/2009 22:30

this
or this

used2bthin · 19/05/2009 22:34

Thank you, I think the first one may be the ight shape to wear over leggings but too pricey. I saw a nice one in Zara but it only came i white so not practical enough.
