Which shrug to go with this dress for a wedding?

Ok so I gave birth 3 weeks ago. We are going to a wedding in 2 weekends time and I bought this dress as I will be bfing dd.

It's very flattering but also v plain so I was thinking a shrug or bolero over it to make it more wedding appropriate.

I love this but wonder if it's too much black.

Would this be better?

Or this?

leaky - the black one is lovely but I think a bit too much black, I love both of the other two

not much help am I

Ooh, I like that purple one (number 2). Actually number 3 is very nice too.

You'll look great! Not like me at 8 weeks with DD2, at a wedding in a t-shirt !

Gorgeous dress Leaky. Worth getting pg for

I like the 3rd choice of shrug myself

MJreturns · 19/05/2009 14:41

I like the third shrug. The dress is lovely too.
If you really wanted the black shrug could you add in some brighter accessories? Maybe a chunky necklace in a bright colour perhaps?
Not sure how practical it would be when trying to feed dd though!

Contorversial I know but I don't think you should wear a shrug at all.

That dress is beautiful and very stylish. Shrugs are frumpy.

Wearing a shrug will hide the lovely shape of the dress.

I'd go for some bold accessories to lift it instead as per MJ's advice.

runnyhabbit · 19/05/2009 16:29

I think all the shrugs are lovely, but imvho, I don't think they do the dress justice. I would go for a huge, statement style bracelet cuff thing, maybe in similar or completely clashing colour of shoes/bag?

It's a security blanket thing. Not feeling particuarly body confident so soon after baby.

Think I will go for number 3 and if it looks wrong with dress I will return it. It's the one I'd be most likely to use again.

Like the idea of fairly bold accessories have got some fab shoes already.

Hi Leaky
Bit late, but I agree I like both of the purple shrugs, the black one is also lovely but agree it's a bit too much black for a wedding. Totally understand about the security blanket thing, I would be the same.
